The virtual exhibition “Tebtynis 1931” is dedicated to the so-called “deposit” of the library of the Temple of Sobek in Tebtunis, in the Fayyum, discovered in 1931 by the Italian Archaeological Mission and the Istituto Papirologico, under the guidance of C. Anti. The papyri from the “deposit” include the largest batch of Egyptian literary texts ever discovered, many of which were written on reused rolls that contained Greek fiscal and administrative documents.
